Vagrant: For the sincere, the homeless, or both.

April 22, 2008

In retrospect, there was something discomforting about walking around the Marquette campus past vagrants while wearing a Vagrant tee. At the time of purchase the Vagrant roster was sweet – The Get Up Kids, Saves the Day, The Anniversary, and honestly, I still throw on “D in Detroit” to bounce around my apartment. Thankfully I shook free of the pop-emo genre just before it got downright silly.

if you’ll note some of Vagrant’s recent releases, the label is making a pretty solid comeback, but there was a time, about  8 years ago, when I thought Vagrant was the best thing to ever exist. This was the same point in time when I would sit in my dorm room, play Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and listen to Very Emergency instead of going to class. I was also working at a coffeehouse so, necessarily, a t-shirt that declared my aptness to read Salinger and make sub-par espresso drinks was crucial.

About the actual shirt: Cherry red, medium-sized, with heavier cotton fabric, in really good shape… (it got taken out of rotation pretty fast, and red’s not really my color).

Size: Medium
Material: 100 Percent cotton
Cost: $7 + $3 shipping
